Hi, I'm Mike

I’m a user experience designer based in Toronto, Ontario.

Initially beginning as a psychology student in my undergraduate years, I always wondered is: how we can use Psychology to make the lives of people better. As a result, I started to take various practical courses associated with Psychology. Some of my favourites are Design Info Interfaces and Writing Across Media. These two courses sparked my interest in user experience design.

In 2021, I joined U of T’s User Experience Design concentration under the Faculty of Information. I learned how to conduct user research, work as a team, communicate with others from different cultural and academic backgrounds, and design low to high-fidelity prototype using Balsamiq, Figma and Miro.

I am particularly interested in service design and accessibility. Having worked in NGOs in China and the U.S., I am excited to explore ways to improve the service of organizations through effective user research and design methods.

I believe that we should think from the perspective of users and every design should be based on solid user research.

Besides work, I like to sing, play the guitar and create YouTube Videos. I also enjoy tasting food around the globe.
